  • I bought this over 3 years ago and it has sat sealed on the shelf ever since. I had little hope after seeing how many tracks were crammed into a single LP. Last track on each side is almost to the label. Smallest deadwax I have ever seen. How they got it to sound so good I have no idea. Yes the volume is low but the pressing is dead quite so there are no issues cranked up. No IGD either. Good job Optimal Media!

  • Absolutely STUNNING sound! So much better than I was expecting! Such a gorgeous album, deserves more love and attention!

  • Despite having over 70(!) minutes of music pressed to a single vinyl LP, this sounds great! I'm sure it would sound even better as a double set, but I'm quite happy with this release. A nice companion piece to "The Immaculate Collection" (although it does share 2 of the same tracks).

  • Do you know if this is the same as the 2016 reissue?

  • I remember not being impressed by the surface noise when I got this back in 2014, but I've just played it on my Pro-Ject Carbon Debut Esprit and it actually sounds great. Surface noise is faint. My advice would be get a better turntable.

  • I recently been on a Madonna vinyl hunt: I have got 'Bedtime Stories' (2016 US 180 Grms), 'Erotica' (2 X Lp 2012 Euro), 'Madonna' (2016 US 180 Grms), 'Like A Prayer' (2016 US 180 Grms), 'Like A Prayer' (2016 UK Red 180 Grms), 'Confessions On A Dance Floor' (2005 2 X Lp Pink Euro), 'Bedtime Stories' (1998 Bootleg Picture Disc), 'Going Bananas' (2017 UK Yellow Bootleg Lp); and this pressing for 'Something To Remember'. I have listed my Lps for this reason. Out of all my current Lps 'Something To Remember' sounds the best. It is true...The Lp is criminally crammed with almost 40 minutes of music per side, just looking at each printed side feels like a Felony...But It has been solved in an pretty good way. Being a Ballad Compilation there is no problem with basslines and placement on each side. It has been cut and the lowest volume possible. While 'Erotica', will make you turn down the volume, 'Something...' will make you turn up the volume all the way up to the max. BUT, (and this is a big BUT) there is no distortion, vocals sound clear, and there is a precision and pristine quality to it that suits the album just fine. I like it better sonically than the CD Album or Digital Versions. While many people complain on Rhino Reissues and I do get the complains on not making this one a 2 Lp Set (And not making it colour, as being a very femenine and delicate release, it lends itself to being pressed on pale pink, peach or clear vinyl beautifully, but Oh well...), I think the sonics have been handled sensibly and there is a good dinamyc range to it. The cover is not as 'White' as the CD Album Cover (I own copies to compare) and it has a 'champagne' colour wash all over it, as if sunkissed. The back it's splendid, the roses design looks amazing big. While the Jacket is 'Thin', It is very Glossy. The Lp it's housed in a plain white dust sleeve with label window. No info sheet or lyrics. All credits and Madonna's dedication is all printed on the back. While very 'Back To Basics', It is a very nice released. I was cringing while I bought it 'Till I put in on the Turntable, waiting to be a hideous pressing. Bought it expecting the worse and more about making my Lps complete. I was waiting to love it, as It is one of my ultimate Fav M's Albums. I was extremely surprised with it. I advice to get it, taking into account that it has been cut at a lower volume, but you have tracks like 'I Want You' (Both Versions), 'I'll Remember', 'You'll See', 'This Used To Be My Playground', 'Love Don't Live Here Anymore' (Album Remix), 'Something To Remember', And 'One More Chance' on Lp. Worth Getting !

  • Recently bought this and couldn't be happier with the compilation and the sound quality. This is a very quiet pressing with excellent dynamic range, not even a hint of compression.

  • I don't understand why Rhino won't reissue this on a double-LP?

  • sounds pretty clear for a record with 70 mins playing time however you can hear noise in the quieter parts of the tracks which can be loud at times which is a little disappointing

  • My copy sounds amazingly good. I have the original albums on vinyl and comparing to the singles on this collection they sound basically the same.

  • It´s strange people saying it´s sound terrible, because I bought one copy expecting the worst but it sounds amazing!!!

  • Badly compressed vinyl. Don't wasn't your money on this or any other rhino reprint. They need to stick to novelty records.

  • I have found the same with rhino represses.... it sounds like there are a lot of surface scratches on them

  • I can say that this reissue sounds much better than the original pressing which contains quiet audio and is noisier. I cannot remember any other LP with 70+ minutes of music on a single disc.. This pressing is also on the quiet side but the dynamics is there once you turn up the volume. A great release actually.

  • I can not confirm that it sounds bad. on the contrary. I am pleasantly surprised

  • Terrible sounding pressing. 71 minutes on a single LP!! Don't waste your money.

  • What equipment are you using? My copy sounds great - sure it's a bit quiet but the vinyl is so 'black' that turning it up is no problem. Just 'cause it's cut at a low level doesn't make it a 'terrible pressing' - I've heard more crunchy, distorted loud pressings than I have poor quiet ones over the years. Listen again!
