  • For the people who are saying a2 is a rip off of another track - you do see that under each track title on the record it says 'edited by'? I think these tracks are all edits of previous tunes as opposed to Cabrals own productions...

  • fergus222For the people who are saying a2 is a rip off of another track - you do see that under each track title on the record it says 'edited by'? I think these tracks are all edits of previous tunes as opposed to Cabrals own productions..."Rip off" is a rather emotive term but as with all re-edits, it's fair to ask whether a particular re-edit brings anything new to the table in terms of an innovating new arrangement or is simply just a lazy re-hash of someone else's creativity; in my opinion this is the latter. Folk not aware of the source of the re-edit need to know, so they at least have the option to compare and make their own mind up.

  • "Better Think Again" is just a rip of Kym Sims - Take My Advice (Maurice Joshua Underground Mix) b/w vocal/samples taken out and not as punchy, original is better imo (in reply to comments below I didn't say rip off, I said 'rip of' in which i meant edit, it's just not like this tune needed an edit it's a classic and not hard to get)

  • deeper_into_the_vibe...Anyway I don't think, that the version on this EP (even when it indeed might lack of creativity)is far worse than the original - I simply like both. It's a matter of taste -I would love to see more stripped down versions of oldschool garage classics without these (sometimes annoying!) endless vocal-sampling, imo.- Like some Pal Joeys or Dj Dukes classics :)It's more of a "Beats" version but then again, the original didn't really overuse the vocal samples that much. This version appears to have looped the most stripped bars from the original, can see why it may appeal to some but really, go back to the source people!

  • Hey you are right. "Better think" again is definitely a rip-of ... The sad thing is, I allready knew the Kym Sims,I think I even have the record, or a friend of mine at least ...Everytime I listened to the track, I asked myself why this track allways sounded that fimiliar ^^ ...Anyway I don't think, that the version on this EP (even when it indeed might lack of creativity)is far worse than the original - I simply like both. • "Better Think Again" is a timeless house bomb, this EP would be a must have for this track alone. - but "Get Get Get" just makes me go crazy;it's a remake/remix of "NightStar - Body Groove (Get In The Groove)", which was only released on the "Chicago Sound: House Music Vol. II"compilation from 86/87; http://www.discogs.com/Various-The-House-Sound-Of-Chicago-Vol-2/master/164220Still Marcos' version of the track is the one to go for in my opinion - a total Acid-House killer, also as a result of how the vocals were used.

  • It appears that the NightStar track was released as a twelve, albeit with a misspelled artist: Nipestar* - Body Groove.
